Muskathlon Indonesia 2020 42 km
In October 2015 my participation in The 4th Musketeer Xtreme Character Challenge weekend awakened something inside of me. I began to see the church not as a place to gather or something to belong to, but as a movement of God that will reach a lost world by meeting the needs of hurting people. I also began to see the need to push myself spiritually and physically in order to be a better disciple of Jesus Christ. Not long after, I felt a stirring to be a part of worldwide missions. I never saw myself as an athlete, and did not think that an endurance challenge like a Muskathlon would be for me. Out of curiosity I went to the Muskathlon website and Indonesia 2020 jumped out to me. Prayerfully, I began to do more research about Compassion International and the islands I will be visiting. Before long the Holy Spirit made it very clear that I should go.
In June of 2020 we will travel to Indonesia for a Muskathlon with Compassion! And we don't just do that. Indonesia is a beautiful country, with thousands of islands and a particularly rich history. However, a large part of the population suffers from extreme poverty. With this Muskathlon we fight against the consequences of this among the children in Indonesia and we make a statement against the injustice they suffer as well.
I humbly ask for your support as I step out to support those in need. I am charged to raise $11,179 as goal for participating in the Muskathlon. This money will go to Compassion International and the work they are doing around the globe to raise children and their families out of poverty. Compassion International has been making a difference in many villages in 25 countries around the world since 1952. Their commitment to long-term development of children living in poverty has made it a perfect partner for me and the calling I feel on my life.
Please prayerfully consider supporting me as I accept the challenge to make a difference in the world through the work of Compassion International. Sponsoring a child will be life changing not only for the child you sponsor and their family but also for you.
My wife, Valerie, and I have sponsored a child named Miguel in El Salvador for 13 years. We have seen Miguel go from a boy to a young man. Valerie and I recently committed to pay for his college education, and he will begin veterinary school next year. Our prayer is that through our contributions Miguel will be able to support his own family and be a blessing to others.
Compassion International has lifted thousands of children like Miguel out of poverty while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
For each child sponsored I receive a $1000 credit toward this goal. Visit https://compassion.com/the4thmusketeer and find the child God has waiting for you! You can also choose to donate a dollar amount to support my efforts.
